Can I connect my bluray player to an older tv? It's not a flat screen and doesn't have an hdmi plug but can't I buy an hdmi convert to rca?

You can buy a converter.
If the TV has component video (3 RCA jacks) then get one that converts to that since it is the best analog video connection. Composite video (1RCA jack) isn't as good. The converter will have left and right RCA jacks for audio.
