I don't know the kid. I don't know the parents. I don't know the context in which the tragedy happened. Still, it's safe to assume the kid was f*cked up to start with. Autism? Schizophrenia?

[citation][nom]msdss[/nom]I don't think the parents or games are at fault... The kid was just fucked in the head...[/citation]

Obviously a rare strain of some bad DNA, if this happened every day at a measurable rate, then anti-videogame/violence people might have a case, but they don't. I concur.

[citation][nom]jcknouse[/nom]I hope they put him down.Clean up the gene pool. Darwin would want it that way. lol[/citation]
What a terrible thing to say.. nevertheless, I agree.

[citation][nom]utgardaloki[/nom]How on earth can you know this was due to bad parenting?? To me it sounds like this boy had some kind of condition. Still just an assumtion though.[/citation]
Parents are responsible for their children. Period. He's 14, there must have been SOME sign of what he was caple of what direction he was going. The parents simply didn't "nip it in the bud". How did he get that addicted to his games in the first place? Simple. The parents neglected to regulate his activities when he was younger. Now he feels he's entitled to it, so his best solution was to kill his father so he could get what he felt was his right. Even if he was simply "messed up in the head" his parents should have seen to it that he got the necessary help before it got to this point.

Weak minds shouldn't be allowed to play violent video games.

ASSuming that it was a violent and addictive game.

This is just as bad as the Romanian kid that killed both his parents because they took away his internet because he was addicted to Counter Strike.

After that he went to a local coffee shop with his laptop and continued playing.

You're not fooling anyone. It is ALL the parent's fault. This is a prime example of bad parenting which is the ONLY reason for him being "fucked in the head" (unless he was mentally handicapped). I'll tell you one thing, it definitely isn't the game's fault. My parents took away my keyboards, powercords, etc whenever I played too much and I played violent games...I didn't bash my dad's head in with a sledge hammer.

That is incredibly insensitive. Regardless, I laughed for twenty minutes after reading that.

Perfect candidate for the death penalty. I hope they have it in Russia. He should be bludgeoned to death with a sledgehammer but while he's awake!

[citation][nom]tayb[/nom]I don't know what is more sad about this story. The fact that a father is dead, a mother is now a widow, and a son will be in prison as a 14 year old child or you idiots coming on here making these outrageous comments. Some of you people just make me sick. Awful story and the first thing you can think of is defending video games and lambasting the parents.[/citation]
In a world of unrelenting tragedy, you can become numb to it or you have to deal with it somehow. It certainly isn't funny to the folks involved, and not funny to you either, but humor helps some people cope.

Me? I spend a lot of effort finding something to block out corpses and humor is one way to do that. "Achievement unlocked" might be all I rememeber about this in a few weeks, and that's a good thing...
