the guy could have remoted to his system to update facebook from any other system, or if he is smart made a script to update facebook while he is afk robbing the bank!

on the other hand he might be innocent who knows!
 
The headline is rather misleading... When I first opened the article, I thought it'd be about a 6-year old stealing candy at the local store.

I'm sorry but "boy" doesn't equal to a near-adult 19-year old man... No matter how poor his spelling and manners.
 
Who's to say that HE sent the update, it could have been someone else on his account saying that... Obviously the athorities never heard of someone lying....
 
I do wonder how much was made to insure the quality of the alibi.... was the computer that was supposedly used to send the message checked ?

And still... if an alibi that's not bullet proof can get the charges droped.... it means that you don't have bullet proof evidence therefor you wouldn't get condemned in the end.
