Hi! I'm kind of new to the video editing scene, but I want to get into making some videos. Mostly videos about reviews or updates on my latest projects. I'd like to be able to do some cool effects with text like in intros and such.

So I'm in the market for a sub-$100 video editing software! Do you know any good ones?

Some more details that I'll add:

1) I don't really film stuff on a camera. I use a screen recorder, and sometimes a web cam.

2) I'd like to have a software well equipped with good effects to make neat intros and such :)

I'd recommend taking a look at MoviePlus X5, from the company I work for Serif. At $79.99 it's very powerful for the money and one of few video editors to utilise smart 'proxy' processing when editing HD footage. MoviePlus X5 offers the ability to add unlimited tracks to the timeline plus has advanced blend modes and layers groups - no other video editing software offers these features at this price point.

MoviePlus X5 supports many popular effects, including chroma key.

If you'd like to give the software a try first there's a free, feature-restricted Starter Edition at:
