Hi,
I would like to buy an iPod as a gift. I would not want to spend more than $200 and 8gb is sufficient as storage as well. The only thing I don't like is that it is the 2nd generation (3rd generation have 32gb & 64gb for storage) so the new OS4 will likely not work with the 2nd generation model, as its hardware is probably not powerful enough.
Also, based on what I read, a new generation of iPod Touch is not due anytime soon, just an iPhone based on all the Gizmodo leaks. Based on buying guides, iPods are usually released around September.
So what should I do? Is a 2nd generation 8gb iPod Touch purchase is smart at this point and time, knowing that it is not a recent model.
Thanks.
