Hello,
barbadis :
ok so office depot has kingston hyper x 4g for $10! i was wondering if just installing it would be compatible with my laptop and make any difference.
currently my laptops specs are:
RAM: 4gb ddr2 sdram @ 667MHz
I assume your laptop model is Dell XPS M1530. It supports upto 8GB of memory. It has 2 slots and max per slot it takes is 4GB. I'm not sure of the memory you are looking at , generally speaking DDR2 memory is costlier than DDR3 and I do not believe that you could 4GB DDR2 memory @ $10. (Provide me a link so that I can believe it myself
)
Well, if you have a single 4GB ( 1 x 4GB) module installed then you can go with another 4GB 667MHz memory else you can go with two 4GB DDR2-800MHz memory.
You can compatible memory at this link -

Good luck!!
