Solved! Cable Box

I purchased a Comcast HD cable box on ebay and a cable box from Digital TV Express but I am being told by Comcast that I cannot use them because I have to rent my box from them which I do. A HD DVR and a standard box. Is there a way to get the 2 boxes I purchased to work?

the box you purchased may be stolen or a lost box. comcast needs the mac id number so that they can hit it. i know you can buy your own cable modem but the box depending on the brand may not be compatible in your area. like the area i work in we can only use Motorola. there also may not be a compatible cable card in the box. i know the company and the area i work for wont use customer bought boxes because there more hassle to use and there usually not compatible.
