Can a 1st generation i7 run an Oculus rift?

I ran the oculus pc test and it came back with my processor being the only thing below their minimum, although the steam utility said I'm fine. I've made a few upgrades since i built this back in 2010 but the processor has been able to power through everything I wanted so far.

I'm running:
Intel i7-950 3.07GHz L2 cache 4x256kb L3 cache 8mb
Intel DX80SO motherboard
Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060
12GB DDR3
500GB SSD
Windows 10 Pro 64bit

Everything else should be in good shape, just wondering if there is anything more modern CPU's have that would cause me problems running an oculus rift? Thanks!

Update: Did some more searching online and looks like some people are running oculus with as low as a i7-920 so should be fine. Will update again if not.

It should be able to power althoigh i would consider upgrading in future make sure mobo is vr compatable

With ASW you should be okay for the most part. A little overclock wouldn't hurt.
