Can I run a 1000w amp with a 1500w sub?

I bought a pioneer 1500w to replace my factory sub in my car. I already have a 1000w amp running my inside speakers but I have another 1000w just waiting to be hooked up. Is this a good hookup?

Sure.

...but keep in mind....1000 watt amps aren't always 1000 watt amps...and 1500w speakers aren't always 1500w speakers.

...and make sure your impedences are lined up.
