Hi

I have an HP Pavilion DV6 (dv6-3119sa).
The upper RAM slot is faulty (one of the pins is corroded and fails to make contact).
The lower slot is fine.
I'd like this machine running with 8gb RAM - Will it operate with a single 8gb RAM installed in the lower slot, please?
As I understand, it needs PC-10600 1333Mhz Memory at 1.5V.

Thank you for any assistance
Chris

Thanks for your reply.

"Memory:
Slots: 2 (2 banks of 1)
Maximum Memory: 8GB
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
Standard Memory: 4GB removable.

Sorry - Whereabouts in that information does it say that it will not work with a single 8GB Ram?
Maybe I'm missing something . . .

Sadly, the pin is corroded beyond use - That slot is not repairable.

the highest single stick ram listed on that link is 4gb. does any of your friends' laptops use the same type of ram but 8gb stick to see if yours will use same?
