Can video cable destroy LCD TV

can someone help me, I plug a yellow video cable from my DVD to my LCD TV and the power tripped
When I tried 2 other DVD players on the TV and the quality of the picture is no good when watching the movie the picture is discoloured and looks fuzzy. But to watch normal TV channels the pictures are fine

It is possible your mainboard has been damaged by an abnormal input. Usually an un-grounded cable box will cause this, but a shorted dvd can as well. Time to call for warranty service, and discontinue using the suspect dvd player.

Have you tried other connectors? An LCD TV should have plenty of inputs for you to use aside from the crappy quality composite you are trying to use.
