1.Can this digital audio coaxial cable which is a 3.5mm trrs phono plug leading to a coaxial connector be able to carry 5,1 ch surround sound?The3.5 mm plug connects to my tv digital audio port (labelled spdif)which looks similar to headphone jack socket.
Xiaomi mi tv 2 spdif coaxial cable

2.The tv supports Dolby audio & DTS Express 5.1

When select bitstream(either in external device or tv bitstream option) & if tv allow audio passthrough, can that cable carry 5.1 surround sound signals from the spdif 3.5mm digital audio output to soundbar.

Hoping someone in the forum has knowledge of this & can answer.Thank You.

Just remembered there is a SPDIF header for digital audio in pc motherrboard. There are three pins ,5V TTL level,SPDIF out signal & ground When connect the spdif header to a SPDIF optical & RCA(Coaxial)out plate cable bracket, all three pins are connected on the header. The 5V pin is to power the light for an optical SPDIF

For coaxial spdif output it only needs 0.5V TTL which is managed by the circuit in the bracket
Only 2 pins need connection to coaxial digital output, the spdif signal out & ground

1)3.5mm 4 pole(trrs) plug to rca type coaxial cable : for stereo analog output and coaxial digital audio output.
t>left audio(analog)
r>right audio(analog)
r>spdif out signal(digital audio)
s>ground

2)spdif 3.5mm 3poles(trs)plug to rca type coaxial cable :for mono left channel analog output & coaxial digital audio output
t>left audio or mono(analog)
r>spdif out signal(digital audio)
s>ground

3)spdif 3.5mm 2 poles(ts)plug to rca type coaxial cable :eek:nly coaxial digital audio output
t>spdif out signal(digital audio)
s>ground

*Coaxial spdif digital audio output can carry PCM stereo(2ch),multichannel audio(surround) such as Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS 5.1
*the S/PDIF signal is a single digital signal containing data for two or more channels, channel status and clocking information—all in one signal.
