I bought a splitter, from Sewell,to feed hdmi to my hd tv on my back deck but it wont work. when tv cable or deck tv cable are connected to receiver they work great. When going through splitter from dish receiver nothing happens, Is there something in Dish network signal that stop the signal from being split ???I am at a loss, Thanks in advance for any response.

If you can't get anything when going through the distribution amp (even with only one HDMI output cable connected) then it seems that that its' defective or unable to drive the HDMI cables if they are too long. You might need a better distribution amp ($20 is pretty cheap so maybe a better one).

If the splitter is not HDCP compliant (many units are not) then the likely encrypted signal will not get passed through. You can test it with a PC HDMI out- if it works with that, it's likely to be protected by HDCP.
