Canon mx2

Hello, my canon XM2 when i push backwards button works for a while and stops. Play works ok.
In the service of canon in Greece asked me for 450E to replace the mechanism with only 3 months of quaranty. Does canon have different mechanism for backwards and play? Is it worth while to repair it

If lucky, you may find a dealer whose repair shop can fix it for less -- as this is an older model, used parts may be available.

You can best judge the cost of repair against the price of replacement. This was a very expensive product -- but a new model may do more for less money.
