Hello,
i am getting a message that said memory card error. i have tried different sd cards from around the house but they all come up saying memory card error. any sugestions?

If you've already downloaded any pictures from the card (via USB card reader ?) try formatting the card in the Canon.

Yeah, that's true, this applies for almost all the cameras today as this is indeed something that would be of a very good thing to be the first thing to be done. Formating the card removes all the files and while formating it again in the camera just installs the required applications and make it eligible for further use. Hope this does explain you the process involved.
