i downloaded Linux Mint 32 bit iso file . i burned it on a dvd. I have a 2005 era Laptop. i was able to change boot order to cdrom first. but i get error msg "non bootable' media in cdrom drive. I dont think this old machine can boot from usb or I would try that too. help please. thanks!

Hi. It is a satelite m-45 . Its probably circa 2005. I dont see USB as an option in boot order. I burned the dvd with this same laptop with the mint iso. I did download the iso to my mac first and then moved the iso file to tosh using a flash drive...but I think that sould be ok ?

How did you burn the ISO file to the DVD? With a tool like Rufus or another disk burning app? Did you select to make a bootable image when burning the ISO?

I just used the app that was on the toshiba laptop. it is SONIC RECORD NOW. I selected the burn option to 'not allow more files to be added later' but I dont recall any option for 'making a bootable image' in that app.
