I followed the directions here

http://www.msi.com/files/pdf/How_to_make_a_bootable_flash_disk_and_to_flash_BIOS_f.pdf

Then I put the BIOS file that I installed on the website on it (unzipped) but when I tried to update it in BIOS I got a message saying that there was no BIOS file on the root of the folder and I had to copy it to the root of the disk image. But when I follow the directions for creating a bootable flash disk, there is never any folder called "root" (or any folder at all). Is there supposed to be?

I'm assuming that this means that I also can't update the drivers through BIOS, since they'd also have to be in the root? My reason for doing this is because the issues with the version of BIOS that this came with prevent me from being able to access the Internet in Windows 8.1.

Root means the main level (for lack of a better word) of the drive.

Basically, if you open My Computer and open the flash drive from there, the first window that it opens to is the root of the USB drive. Or if you open the Run command and type the letter of the USB drive (e.g. E:\), the window that pops up will be the root of the drive.
