i have a dell 4400 dimensions computer with service tag # 8NR3711. i have no sound on my computer. i have a sound card named sound blaster live ct4780 and i have gone to dell.cm to find the driver. there are 3 drivers on dell.com that say sound blaster but they do not fix the problem. thanks

i have 2 computers which are the same. the mother board died on one of them so i moved my 2 hard drives over to this computer. this one has a sound board live ct4780 (sound card) so i cant get the sound. i am missind (PCI input device and multimedia controller) both have a yellow question mark on hardware device manager.

Uninstall both devices (don't reboot). Download the BIOS update for your system run that. It will reboot.

Download and install the chipset drivers, reboot.

Download and install the SB drivers here http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R37379&SystemID=DIM_PNT_P4_4400&servicetag=8NR3711&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=229&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=3&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=42512

If that does not work, double-check to make sure yo have the SB chip on the motherboard and not the Analog Devices one.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO IS TAKE IT TO A TECH SHOP WHERE THEY FIX COMPUTERS , THESE B.S. DOWNLOADS ARE A WASTE OF TIME ,
