Hi everyone
I have a TCL TV And its internal speakers aren't that good and I want to connect it to 2 channels sound system via 3.5 mm audio wire .
The problem is although my tv has a 3.5 mm audio jack but when i connect it to the sound system it won't work!!! hence the only output connections in tv are one 3.5mm audio L/R and one video rca as seen in this drawing URL :

My question is does the 3.5mm audio didn't work individually ! Does it need to be connected along with video rca ??

Also I'm wondering if I connect the (common) of audio cable with the outer video rca connector will solve the issue or make a shortcut !!

OR WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET SOUND OUT OF THAT TV ?

If you see the attached drawing you will notice that ALL TV CONNECTIONS ARE (JUST INPUT) AND THE ONLY AVAILABLE (OUTPUT) ARE THE 3.5mm audio L/R and rca video .

Please help me .

Thanks

There should be no reason to connect the video output of the TV to get the audio output to work.
Check the TV menu system. You may have to turn the audio output on. Have you checked the sound system with another source like your phone?
Your TV has a coax spdif digital audio output which you should be able to use with either a coax to optical or coax to analog converter depending on what inputs the sound system has.

OR WHAT SHOULD I DO TO CONNECT THAT TV TO THE SOUND SYSTEM VIA 2.3MM AUDIO CABLE ?

If you see the attached drawing you will notice that ALL CONNECTIONS ARE (INPUT) AND THE ONLY (OUTPUT) ARE THE TWO 3.5mm audio and rca video .

Is there sound coming from the speakers until you connect to the 3.5mm jack? The 3.5mm jack is a headphone jack. Plug some headphones or earbuds in, to find out if you have a signal coming from the jack for both the L+R channels. If not, then check the audio settings in the setup menu, like americanaudiophile mentioned. If the internal speakers were disabled, there will be no sound from the speakers and most likely, the headphone jack. Turn them on. Forget the vid cables. Your TV audio output will correspond with the input source selected.
