I'm running Windows 10 Home and have tried various AV products over the years. I wasn't too thrilled with most of them, so I figured I'd go back to plain, old Defender. Well, now I can't get it to run. I've uninstalled all other AV programs, and even used each companies removal tool. I scanned with the ESET AV removal tool as well.

After doing some searching, I think I've tried most of the suggestions, but no luck. I don't think I have any viruses, and I just downloaded Malwarebytes 3. It said I have a clean system. Not really sure what else to do here. If I try to start the Defender service manually, I get the message shown in the screenshot.

Guys, never mind. It figures as soon as I post this, I'd solve it. I was looking at the registry keys under localmachine\software\microsoft\defender, but I just discovered there was a key under 'policies' to disable antispyware. Doh! Anyway, think I'm all good now.
