Hi,
I have a media system, JVC TH-L1:
http://support.jvc.com/consumer/product.jsp?modelId=MODL027941
Until now I was able to hear sound through a RCA cable, but it isn't a 5.1, so I bought a optical cable, which does support.
When i'm using the optical cable, I can not get sound from the computer.
Installed the new drivers, changed the output to "Realtek Digital Output (optical)"
but without any success.
The cable is probably good, because when I connected it I had a popup that said that a new sound cable connected.

So, I come here trying to find some help..
any help is appriciated, sorry for grammer mistakes.

Couldn't find the manual for your JVC but in av receivers you have to assign an optical connection to an actual input such as TV or DVD for it to work. Since you have front and rear optical inputs make sure you are on the correct one too.

I don't have a remote for it, lost it. I think you are right, because I tried anything else.
