Cat 5 question

We recently has a theater room built in our house. Instead of running HDMI from our receiver to the tv our contractor ran cat 5 cable. He said to get a "baland" box and connect that to the receiver with HDMI wire. Help!!! I've researched "baland" and it doesn't exist.

I think the term you're looking for is, "Balun".
