Cd/dvd player not working

Hello,
my laptops cd dvd drive is not working...at start up the light turns on and you can hear it working....once windows starts up it doesnt do anything...i cant even open it...no light no sound...what do i do?

Sound like you need a new optical drive.

Is it still under warranty? If not then you'll need to replace the drive yourself or bring it to a repair center to have them do it for you.
