changing laptop's processor

can i change i5 4200u to i5 5200u. The socket is the same so i think that it can be replaced. Can't it? the laptop is asus a451LN

If the motherboard support that chip and the power use is the same then i dont see problem
However looking at both processors the 4200u have better turbo speed and you will probably not notice much difference

No you can not upgrade this cpu as it is soldered to the motherboard.

It is a BGA CPU meaning it is soldered to the motherboard, the only way to change the cpu is if you change the motherboard to one from the same model of laptop that has a faster cpu or if you have the same equipment as the OEM that makes motherboard (reflow machine, BGA Balling machine, ect.) Plus get your hands on an OEM only BGA cpu that is not already soldered to a motherboard. So for all practical purposes this CPU CAN NOT be upgraded Period...
