I'm opening a business in Japan and would appreciate some advice on what to look for.
I'm only experienced with small scale home audio systems so please don't answer me as if I'm a smart person who knows what you're talking about ;)

Here are my conditions:
It's a small place; one room, as is usually the case in Japan (imagine a small board room).

I want a PC (probably a laptop) to act as the source for the audio. I also want microphones for announcements and singing. Not entirely sure what the best setup for these would be. Guess it would depend on whether or not my system simply acts as "PC speakers" or not.

I'm looking for clean accurate audio. Loudness and booming low frequency is not a priority. I want people to be able to talk comfortably without feeling like the music's a nuisance.

I'm really green when it comes to this. Please let me know if you think I'm overlooking something as well. Thanks.

As a start, look at some of these setups http://www.proacousticsusa.com/complete-sound-systems/commercial-sound-systems.html

For a business, I suggest you get something like a system with an amp, source selector, separate microphone http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/237487-Pyle-Pro-PDMIC58 and an XLR pre-amp to connect to the speakers.

You may want to just find a local audio place to hook things up. It's probably worth a few 100 for them to do the work, should not be too much to set things up for you, especially if you just use bookshelf speakers and don't need anything mounted with brackets or in-wall speakers.

Hmm, alright. I have a vague idea of what to look for so I suppose I can search for a place that sells these things and have a look around.
Thanks.
