This problem did not happen until a month or two ago.
Since the problem started, when I try open Gmail from my Chrome browser a warning screen appears which reads "Not secure / Your connection is not private...".
Gmail does not open.
This does not happen when I use Firefox, but I would like to be able to use Chrome because it is much faster than Firefox.
Has anyone been able to correct this problem?

Yes
But the problem remains.
These actions had no effect.

If Gmail is slow or isn't loading correctly, use the steps below to fix the problem.
Step 1: Check that you're using a browser that works with Gmail
[Gmail works in Firefox, doesn't work in Chrome.]
Step 2: Check your browser extensions or applications
[Chrome/Gmail won't open even with no extensions and running Incognito.]
Step 3: Clear your browser's cache & cookies
[Chrome/Gmail won't open even after having cleared its cache & cookies.]
Step 4: Check your Gmail labs
[Unable to open Gmail labs in Chrome using https://mail.google.com/?labs=0.]
[Able to open Gmail labs in Firefox using https://mail.google.com/?labs=0.]
[Turned off Gmail labs in Firefox.]
[Chrome/Gmail still won't open.]
The steps above didn't help.
If the problem still isn't fixed, check the G Suite Status Dashboard to see if there's a known issue happening on Gmail.
[Able to open G Suite Status Dashboard in Chrome.]
[G Suite Status Dashboard showed no problems with Gmail & others.]
[Chrome/Gmail still won't open.]
Thanks for trying to help me,
Ron
