Chromebook 13 - worth it?

Hi, I'm tempted to pre-order the new Chromebook 13 by Acer, mainly for school purposes like doing research and typing (no gaming, obviously). I'm wondering if its k1 cpu is any good compared to, say, an intel i3 or celeron. Is this laptop worth it, or should I look into another budget one? Thanks.

Chromebooks don't as much ram or cpu because it's function is a dedicated web browser. The big limiting thing is the speed of the internet connection.
I bought my son a Asus Transformer T100 10in. hybrid with a Intel Atom Z3740 Quad core cpu, 2G of ram and a 64G ssd. It runs W8.1 and has MS Office loaded with lic. I got it for $300 shipped to my house. I think is a far better value than any Chromebook I've seen.
