Circles around lights at night - lens broken?

Hello,

My nifty fifty from canon just started a very weird behavior. If I do photos at nights, it produces circles around all light sources and I have no idea why.

Could this be a defect or something else? Does anyone have an idea what to do against it?

Would prefer to see an actual image taken, what you posted is an image of the EVF or Live View, so it's like...an image of an image of an image. Regardless, what troubleshooting steps have you taken? Have you tried this lens on another body? Have you tried other lenses on this body?
