Question Clevo P775 TM1G upgrade question (gtx 1080 > RTX 2080)

So I managed to get 2 of these laptops but I figure I take some parts of the stronger one (rtx 2080 , i9 9900K) to replace the older one (GTX 1080, I7 8700K) since I have programs and data installed on that.
Just wondering how easy is it to replace these? I heard that this particular model is upgradeable but I'm curious on how much work will it be?
do i need to upgrade bios or something?

It depends on whether or not the old one supports the newer parts and also depends on your own level of skill with disassembling laptops.

In many cases, the CPUs are not cross compatible and many vendors are even weirder about MXM cards.

I highly suggest you call or email Clevo directly and ask if the older model supports the newer parts.

Unfortunately the NotebookReview forums are down and they had a TON of info about MXM upgrades.

Here's the product page.
