Compaq CQ40 no power

A good day to all! I got a problem with my Compaq cq40. Its not powering up, the white led light indicator on the power jack is dim. I've already tested the adapter using a multimeter and the output voltage is right. Its totally dead no fan spins, no hdd led light activity and no beeps. Seems odd that Its just working fine yesterday and I did turn it of properly. Hope you guys can help me out tnx!

Try with just the adapter without the battery, and after if nothing happened with just the battery.

thank you sir for a quick reply! I already tried the adapter without the battery but still no power. I'm currently disassembling the laptop and will try to look for any signs of damage or burnt components.

I have a similar(identical) problem with a cq60-100ea. The light on the power port glows, but that is it. I have tried without the battery and no diffrence, just dismantled it and tested the power going through the port(it's on a cable with connector - not soldered) and current seems to be flowing through it. Kind of lost with this one. Have you had any joy? Thanks M.
