Computer applications freezing

My certain applications on my computer will just fail to respond. I'll open chrome and when I try to start a video chrome will just freeze, same with stuff like discord. This all started to happen after I upgraded my ram, could that be the cause?

If upgrading memory was the issue, it would effect all applications. I assume that some things work properly, by your description.

What are the specs for this system? Have you updated Windows recently? Installed any new apps? Also, have you scanned for malware/viruses?

Is Chrome up to date?
