Computer running slow. Battery drains completely during sleep mode

Hello, I have a gigabyte p34gv2 laptop running windows 8.1. Recently applications (especially chrome) have been loading and running slowly. Furthermore the battery drains almost completely under a few hours in sleep mode.

What could be wrong and how could I fix it?

I appreciate any help!

You can try a refresh of the OS. That repairs affected parts of the OS and potentially restores your system in good condition. Of course, you can check the task manager to see what program/service keeps running at full load.

How do you refresh your os?

go to battery settings and set to high performance.This will use yo pc at full clock speed,ram speed etc...so it will run fast
