Connect 2 LCD monitors to HP EliteBook Laptop

I want to add 2 LCD monitors to my laptop and use all 3 screens. I have the two external monitors hooked up, but can only get any two of the three displays to work at a time. One monitor uses the VGA port, the second uses a displayport to VGA adaptor and the laptop hookup is internal.

Can I configure this to work?

as far as I know, right out of the box, no. a laptop is typically able to support 1 external at a time, there's simply not enough power for it to power all output ports at the same time.
