Hi - I have a Camrecorder ( Sony HDR-XR500 ) where the screen is very small and I would like to connect the camcorder to my "Lenovo T500 2241" so I get a bigger screen when I recorded video's. Can it be done?
and if yes - how? (Like a detailed guide how to connect - Please. ) picture
I have a HDMI cable plugged camcorder with a plug that fits Display port on the computer, but there will be no picture. I think that the display connector into your computer only can be used to display the computer screen on a external monitor.
The USB connection on the Camcorder, can only be use to copy from camcorder to computer...
So, you then have two options:
- get a small HDMI monitor (I got 19" combo TV/monitor for less than $100 some months ago). Of course, there are special small-form-factor HDMI monitors, even with camera mounts, but they are much more expensive.
- use some HDMI-to-RCA converter, and then video capture device, and video capture software, to route HDMI signal onto your laptop. I would'nt gp this route...
If the recordings are stored on the camera's hard drive you can copy them to the computer's hard drive to view them. Here's a link for instructions on how to transfer video from the camcorder to the computer: https/la.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/39209/c/65,75/
If video is on the memory stick follow these directions: https/la.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42523/c/65,75/
