i am trying to hook up a dvd/vcr recorder to my cable box but all the output rca connections are being used by six lines that run into my television. Would I be able to connect my cable box/dvr to my television using a hdmi cable and then connect the dvd/vcr recorder with the rca cables?
Thanks in advance!

Assuming your TV does have an HDMI input and your cable box has an HDMI output, it will work. Then you can use your RCA cables to connect the DVD/VCR Recorder to the TV.

You will get a better picture using HDMI so that will be good. You say six RCA cables so I assume that you are using component video +audio (5 RCA cables). The component out on most cable boxes shuts down when you use HDMI. You can connect the DVDR using composite video+ audio.
