I have a Klipse Promedia 2.1 Home Theater setup in my room, with a total wattage of 200w. The satellite speakers connect to the subwoofer, and the subwoofer get its power from a pre-amp that you plug into the wall, powering the whole setup. My question is: Can I use a separate subwoofer from a car (Rockford p3s 300w) and connect the satellite speakers from the home theatre, ideally replacing the subwoofer it came with. I Understand that the small speakers weren't designed to handle 300w, so is it possible I can run the subwoofer at a lower wattage, while still powering the setup as well. Hopefully running the same wattage, but with a bigger subwoofer. I also have a 300w Kicker amp, and researched how to power car subwoofers in a home. Is it okay to solder the satellite speaker wires to the positive and negative ends on the subwoofer?

Hooking the sats to the sub amp would probably damage them and without a way to adjust how loud the sub plays you wouldn't get the right balance of sub and sats for it to sound good.
The right way to do this is to add a 2 channel amp for the satellites. The subwoofer should not receive a full range signal. You can use something like this too

If you are using a PC with subwoofer out then you can use that to feed the Kicker amp and use the front main out for the amp that drives the satellites. You can also use a surround sound receiver (a used one that doesn't have HDMI would be inexpensive) to drive the sats and use the sub out for the Kicker amp.
