I have a Klipse Promedia 2.1 Home Theater setup in my room, with a total wattage of 200w. The satellite speakers connect to the subwoofer, and the subwoofer get its power from a pre-amp that you plug into the wall, powering the whole setup. My question is: Can I use a separate subwoofer from a car (Rockford p3s 300w) and connect the satellite speakers from the home theatre, ideally replacing the subwoofer it came with. I Understand that the small speakers weren't designed to handle 300w, so is it possible I can run the subwoofer at a lower wattage, while still powering the setup as well. Hopefully running the same wattage, but with a bigger subwoofer. I also have a 300w Kicker amp, and researched how to power car subwoofers in a home. Is it okay to solder the satellite speaker wires to the positive and negative ends on the subwoofer?
