Hello,

If i connect 2 wired headphones to a smart tv (LG 49UH850V) using a 3.5mm audio splitter, will the volume on both be too low since only one audio port has to now supply enough power to 2 headphone sets via the splitter?

Secondly , how much should the listed sensitivity, impedence , etc be on the headphones, to get decent audio output/volume from them? I don't have any knowledge on these numbers, but want max volume possible from the headphones as I plan on using 2 of them connected to a single port in the TV.

[I'm not getting the bluetooth headphones n opting for the wired ones only to save on costs n save the hassle on charging , bluetooth transmitter, range, etc]

Thanks for replies.

to try it, I'd first need to get 2 wired headphones too aside from the splitter.. so i just wanted to be sure of it before buying them.

Impossible to answer , no Specs on headphone output anywhere for the tv so the only way is trial & error.

I would say don't expect massive volume on over ear cans with 40mm drivers.

Those splitters are generally made for in ear buds.

Low ohm impedance , high decibel sensitivity is what you want to be looking at.

Most cheap phones will not even give you these ratings though.

Something like the amazonbasics ones would likely fit the bill.

Thanks for the details.. i'll look for those 2 things specifically when buying the headphones.. I was looking into buying this as its available locally here too :
https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-RPHXC40W-Headphones-Monitor-White/dp/B004MMEI3M/ref=sr_1_63?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1504514197&sr=1-63&keywords=panasonic+headphones+RP-

Do u think they r decent enough or i need to look for some better choices?

these r the listed details for it:

Drive Unit (mm): 30
Impedance: 32
Sensitivity (dB/mW): 116
Max. input (mW): 1,000
Frequency Response (Hz-kHz): 10 - 25
Cord length (ft): 3.9
Weight w/o cord (oz): 2.79
In-cord Volume: Yes
Miniplug (3.5mm): Yes
Air Plug Adaptor: No
Magnet Type: Nd:Neodymium
Plug: Nickel

i need something economic with decently loud sound.. not an audiophile for quality though

Specs look OK , 32ohm each running 2 pairs may be too much though mate & may cut the volume excessively, clip badly , or worse blow your headphone output (not likely but possible)

My aquos TV runs a pair of ath m-50s absolutely fine for general use , which are 38ohm, but there is a noticeable difference in bass & treble when they're run off something decent like my Sony amp.

To run 2 pairs on a splitter simultaneously I would honestly be looking for something 16-20ohm resistance wise to at it safe.
