Connecting 4 laptops to single monitor

Hi,
I want to keep a monitor on my desk that can support up to 4 individuals on laptops simultaneously. I only need one "presenter" at a time, but I don't want to have to pass around the cable connecting/unconnecting. I just want to have everyone plugged in and just switch the signal source to the appropriate individual. Everyone is on a laptop. Is there hardware that will support that? Is a KVM switch overkill? Thanks
