I have a Sony Bravia smart TV, Sony XBR-55X950H. the soundbar only has an HDMi connection. My assisted hearing headphones use the optical connection. I can’t seem to use both the sound bar and the headphones at the same time…separately they both work fine, I need the TV on, not muted.,

I’m 77 and not techie, hoping for some advice, thanks!

Do your headphones only connect via optical?
The headphones can only connect via optical as there is no RCA or audio inputs other than that on the TV. Smart TVs aren’t that smart I’ve decided! I have patch cords for that (red & white L/R) with my assisted hearing headset but there are no inputs on the TV. “The more you pay the LESS you get?” 😁

Yes. That should do the trick. Worth a shot anyway.
Now I need a little guidance please understanding how to connect it. I connect an optical cable to this device and the input optical on the TV? And I run an optical cable from my headset to what?? And what else do I connect…sorry I just don’t know how to connect it!

Do you have the device?

I would assume it only requires HDMI from TV, then another HDMI to the sound bar and then your optical for your headset.

The device should split the signal for you.yes the hdmi cable from from the soundbar to the TV and an HDMI from the cable box to the TV.

Ok I am starting to understand! I think!

I don’t have it yet, want to see what cables I need, I already have extra HDMI so I should be good
