connecting passive sub to new receiver

I recently purchased a new sony str-dh550 AV receiver and all of my speakers are working fine except for my sub which is an old passive kenwood model with only two bare wire connectors on the back. I'm thoroughly stumped so any help would appreciated.

You would need to add an amplifier to drive the passive subwoofer or get a self powered one.
