I have downloaded some audio files that stated they were mp3, but upon looking at them they have .cgi format. I would like to convert them to wav so I can burn them and listen to them on my stereo.

Can anyone suggest a free program or demo program that can do the conversion.

I have googled it. most come back as a type of scripting-like perl. It is clearly an audio file as M$ media player can play it.

This is a free audio editor I don't know if it will work with .cgi because I'm not in my PC, but you can give it a try
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Could those files be mp3 and just have different extension to bypass certain filters?

What audacity you have shown here!

<pre><font color=red>°¤o,¸¸¸,o¤°`°¤o \\// o¤°`°¤o,¸¸¸,o¤°
And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

It seems they were mp3 files, and for some reason they had .cgi extensions.
By mearly changing the name to name.mp3 all problems were resolved.
It is my guess that a cgi script was used to determine who can access what files when. Becouse the cgi script was used, it renamed the mp3 files cgi.
Thank you for your help and suggestions.
