I am in contact with the FCC. The company told me two days ago that the phone was a
Basic cell. If I pay and upgrade, I can get one with a working SD slot. What! to me SD is pretty basic, plus in settings you can erase, unmount. so phone recognizes it.
You just can't save anything to it. or the
device administrator won't let you. So the
saga goes on. If anyone else has had the same thing try FCC.

Well if it is running its original version of Android (Lollipop) then you can't set up the SD card as "Internal" storage. Which is what it would need. However, if you can get the phone to upgrade the firmware to "Marshmallow", you might be able to make it work. I say might because there is always the possibility that the manufacturer has restricted the option on that phone. It happens.

How to turn external SD card into internal storage on "Marshmallow".

NOTE: Please be sure you start with a blank SD card. It needs to be blank because when the card is converted to "Internal" storage, it will be formatted (wiped) and encoded (making the cards data only readable by that device).

1. Go to device “Settings”, then select “Storage”.
2. Select your "SD Card", then tap the “three-dot menu“ (top-right), now select “Settings” from in there.
3. Now select “Format as internal”, and then “Erase & Format”.
4. Your SD Card will now be formatted as internal storage.
5. Reboot your phone.

NOTE: If you don't reboot the phone, many things may not work correctly, so make sure you do.

I've tried again I believe it is restricted!
I may have to see if a government cell can be rooted. Also can I get company for letting me believe I could use SD card.
Thanks for your help.

I couldn't agree more. You would think SD card would be Standard. My job now is to see if I can do anything with the company,
then if no replacement is offered, they force me to root !
