I'm looking for a cpu upgrade for a Acer Extensa 4220. Its using the intel celeron processor 530. 1.73ghz, 533 mhz FSB. Far as i'm aware it's the P model of processor for this type. Any help appreciated.

Laptops are usually a lot harder to modify compared to desktops. CPUs in laptops are usually soldered and not socketed, that being said you would need to be very good technical wise and be able to solder very well. Also it would have to be a mobile CPU for the chipset. Because if you use a desktop CPU, yo'ull have major heating issues.

That's a laptop right? First, you probably can't upgrade the cpu, or at least not very easily/cheaply.
If you could, it would probably make far more sense to spend the same-ish amount of money on a new laptop. Even the $400 laptops these days would massively outperform that one.

Unless you just want to do it to see if you can?
