CPU upgrade for HP Pavilion G6-2134tx

Hello,

I have currently core i3-2350M installed, looking for upgrade , checked hp's website but there are two maintenance and service guide pdf files , so i am little confused , have also checked a variety of cpu's and shortlisted some so, can anyone please tell me that are they compatible with my laptop for upgrading ?

Intel Core i5-3320M Intel Core i5-2450M Intel Core i5-2430M
Intel Core i5-3210M Intel Core i7-3520M Intel Core i7-2640M

Though none of the maintenance and service guide mentiones the intel core i7-2640M processor but the cpu has same socket, TDP, Code name (Sandy Bridge), so would it be right to consider it for upgarding ?Please reply as soon as possible.

You'll have to contact hp to see if they'll give you a cpu support list but that small increase in ghz is really not going to do much.

Along with this i am upgrading my 4gb ram to 8gb, so please have a look on these docoments (just page no 1) and advise accordingly.

Those are the cpu option but there's no telling if different model g6 use different mobos. What is your reason to upgrade?

I am an aerospace engineering student , so need to use solidworks, ansys, matlab etc and my laptop is quite slow and the maintenance guide lists a no of cpu for my chipset.

I can't give you a definitive answer if it'll work as I mentioned before but it should work. Go ahead and try a cpu from the list.
