Hi,

I bought a laptop last week and when I edit text, for example in Microsoft Word, I can press CTRL+SHIFT+LEFT/RIGHT ARROW to select one word. But if I hold the keys, it doesn't continue highlighting text. It is highly annoying, as I would always use that function as part of my job. I checked with an external keyboard, and it worked perfectly fine (it would keep on highlighting more and more text as I held the keys).

Is there anyway I can fix my laptop or change settings to make that work? Thank you.

Hi,

Try disabling the Sticky key function and see if it will solve the problem.
- Click on Start then go to Control Panel.
- Open Ease of Access Center then click on "Make the keyboard easier to use".
- Once opened, remove the check on "Turn on Sticky Keys" under "Make it easier to type".
- Click Apply then OK and test it again.

Thank you for answering! Unfortunately, that doesn't fix the problem. I'm seriously considering returning this computer if I can't get that shortcut to work. I edit text constantly for work and not having this is highly frustrating.
