Ready to quit Comcast but still want to get a lot of the cable channels and local channels. Especially want to retain Fox News, Fox Business, History, A&E, ESPN, etc. Was looking at Sling TV but found it doesn't provide Fox News. Also had planned to get an HD broadcast antenna. Then I was looking at Roku Ultra that says it has 3,500 channels so for that many I would guess that it would have all the channels I want. My TV is about 5 years old and supposedly is a Smart TV. Question is does Roku Ultra REQUIRE a 4k compliant TV that is discussed or is that just for the ultimate reception/resolution?

Anyone have the Roku Ultra that can comment or provide other alternative?

Roku doesn't require a 4K TV. But having "3500" channels doesn't guarantee that the channels you want are available.
For example if you search the Roku Store for the A&E channel -- https://channelstore.roku.com/details/35442/aande You see the note that "CABLE OR SATELLITE SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED" So the A&E app has additional requirements. You can test out a lot of the apps with your phone or tablet, they are available in the standard app stores.

I do have an Ultra connected to a 1080p TV.
