My student daughter bought a dell 1545 on my advice for use at university; after 18 days of use, she accidentally spilt ice tea drink all over it, and fried the motherboard I guess, as it did not work thereafter!
Dell refused to repair it, as the cause was the spillage; furthermore, they said a replacement motherboard would be uneconomical to buy - cheaper to buy a new laptop!
So, has anyone got a broken Dell 1545 and would like to maybe sell me their motherboard? Or buy my screen? Seems a shame and a waste that it cannot be economically repaired...
