Dell dc jack putting off the charger

Dell Latitude D610 DC Jack putting off the charger and not power it on.

Sounds like a short circuit in the socket or on the motherboard is triggering protection in the charger. Best to refer to a repair guy in case you also damage the charger.

Of course it could simply be a fault in the charger -- he can test that by plugging your charger into another laptop to see if the same thing happens then.
