Dell Dock: USB C to USB

I have a dell dock Wd15, which uses USB C to dock a laptop. I'm wondering if there is anyway to use this dock and a machine that doesn't have a USB C connection (specifically the Dell 7559). The laptop has 3 USB 3.0 slots and HDMI out. I see that there are USB to USB C converters on the market but I'm unsure if these would work. Any advice would be appreciated.

It SHOULD. It says for both dell and non dell. If you have the dock already an adapter should be cheap. I would buy locally so it can be returned easily.

Connecting a USB-C dock to a USB3 computer with an A-to-C cable may let you use the USB-based features but you won't get the extras such as DisplayPort pass-through.

^^ Yea what he said. The Display port feature is ONLY though USB type C as it only works on that. Also you won't be able to change the laptop unless it is a type C if it support charging though a type C. Only things that would work, if it did, were stuff running on the regular USB bus in the dock
