Hi Gabrielle,
I am Shuchi from the Dell Social Media outreach team.
I will help you with this issue.
In order to identify if it is a hardware or software issue please run a Pre-Boot System Assessment (PSA) on your system.
To launch the Pre-Boot System Assessment (PSA) sequence, perform the following steps:
1.Ensure the system is powered off.
2.Press and hold the <Fn> key and press the power button to power the system on.
3.Release both buttons.
The PSA diagnostics sequence begins.
4.Make note of any alert tones or error messages.
In case you get any error message it may be a hardware issue and in case you do not it is a software problem.
Also check the Hard drive status in BIOS.
Tap the F2 button 7 - 8 times as soon as you turn on the system till you see system set up screen.
Under system ==> go to Device Info ==> Check Primary Hard drive
In case you have any doubts or need any further information, please revert to this post I will be glad to assist you.
We would recommend you do not post your private information on a public forum.
Thanks & Regards
